Wine lovers can sample more than 100 varieties this weekend as the Texas Maritime Museum in Rockport presents the 8th Annual Festival of Wines. Beginning Saturday afternoon, visitors can discover wines from Texas and California, as well as imported, premium and super elite wines. The two-day event will feature 20 vendor booths offering jams, jellies, artwork, jewelry and boutique wines from a variety of vineyards.
Wine tasting is never complete without entertainment, and the weekend will feature four live bands playing Texas music, jazz and music from other genres. Texas Radio, FM 98.7, also will broadcast live from the grounds throughout the festival.
The festival runs from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15, for one day, for adults 21 and older that includes 3 wine-tasting tickets. Two-day passes are available for $25 and includes 6 wine-tasting tickets. Also included is a commemorative wine glass. Tickets are $5 per day for ages 12-20 and children under 12 get in free. Wine tasting tickets are also available for purchase.
