Highlights of the four-day event include: Thursday - Golf with a View at Redlands Mesa Golf Course Community; followed by Wine & Cheese Reception. Friday - learn about Winemaking, Wine Aromas, and Grape Growing, and conclude the day with a Winemakers Dinner or a Wines & Chocolates Tasting. Saturday - the Festival in the Park - the centerpiece of the weekend from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. Winefest has moved to a new larger location, Riverbend Park in Palisade. Wine tasting with 32 wineries, chef demonstrations and ice carving; live jazz with recording artists Dotsero and Laura Newman and AOA; regional foods, arts, and a grape stomp. Best of the Fest Commercial Winemakers Competition winners will be announced. Optional Riedel Crystal seminar and Winefest 1st Class Pass VIP guest package available. Sunday - Tour the Wineries from 10 am to 5 pm, no tickets are necessary. Maps available at the Park or online. The Amateur Winemakers Competition starts at noon in Palisade. Saturday Festival in the Park information: Location: Riverbend Park in Palisade, 10 miles east of Grand Junction (just 1/2 mile from the previous location). Take I-70, exit 42, at Palisade. 240 miles east of Denver. Parking and shuttle available at Palisade High School, 3679 G Road. Adult tickets: $30 in advance/$35 at the gate; includes a sturdy 6-bottle canvas wine tote, wineglass, and sampling of Colorado wines. 6-20 years/Non-Drinker/Designated Driver tickets: $15. Children 5 and under are free with a paying adult. Wine will be served only to those 21 and older. Feel free to bring a chair for your comfort. PLEASE no dogs, tables, blankets or coolers.
