  1. Tonight at 6pm CST, USA, we'll be racking 12 gallons of Apple, 6 gal of mulberry, 6 gal of blackberry, 6 gal of cranberry and 6 gallons of Chianti wine. Enter the 2003 WineMaker International Amateur Wine Competition Nov, 2003 The best homemade wines from across North America and around the world will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in 50 categories awarded by a panel of experienced wine judges. Last year we had entries from 41 American states, 7 Canadian provinces and 4 countries. Enter your wines and compete against the continent's best home winemakers! You can gain international recognition for your winemaking skills and get valuable feedback on your wines from the competition's judging panel. Deadline is November 21.   3. FYI - The Collinsville Italian Fest has a wine competition every year in September (Collinsville Illinois). Wine can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce or mailed via UPS only. ENTRY IS FREE!!! Check out thier website for an entry form and details: http://www.italianfest.net Entry is FREE Entries can be dropped off between September 1st and September 18th at the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.   6. 2003 HWBTA International Amateur Wine Competition This is a yearly competition open to all winemakers. Winemakers have to be sponsored by an HWBTA Homebrew Shop. Dave's Homebrewing Supplies in Belleville will be sponsoring entries again this year. Guidelines for Entering Through Dave's Homebrewing Supplies: * Complete the HWBTA registration form. (we can send anyone the forms.) * Bring one (1) bottle of wine/mead/champagne per entry along with your registration form here to Dave's Homebrewing Supplies 122 E. Main Belleville IL 62220 618-277-2550 *Include a check for the entry fee(s) written to "HWBTA Competition." *Dave's Homebrewing Supplies will sponsor your entry and take care of the packaging and shipping costs for valid entries brought to us by the shipping deadline. *Deadline for shipping through Dave's Homebrewing Supplies is Monday April 28th.

Any and all amateur winemakers in Illinois are welcome to compete in the Illinois Amateur Wine Competition, co-sponsored by the Illinois Grape and Wine Resources Council and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
