i use 2 and 3 inch hose for racking, filtering and such. wondering if anyone had some good ideas for storing them. i currently just run clean water for a bit then throw some kmb in the water. then i just let them hang wherever i can find a place. thought about getting pvc pipe capping one end, hang on wall at something like a 45 degree angle, and put hose in with kmb solution. anyone with suggestions please post. ps love this site and everyone seems to have positive posts and replys!!!!

I have some large black blinder clips, the ones to keep several hundred pieces of paper together hooked up on my basement ceiling. I clip the end of the tub on the clip and let it dangle downward.
Your idea of PVC tubing is good, but you still have to have some way to clean the inside.

The key is to clean the hose when you finish using it. Hanging it to dry is fine. Clean and sanitize it again when you get ready to use it. Trying to store it sanitary does not preclude you from having to clean before each use. If you get any buildup or stains in the hose, clean it with PBW.

is pbw a caustic cleaner? i've used it for my beer making endevors, but that was years ago and i do not remember. i currently clean with a 10% caustic soda bead solution then rinse with kmb solution

10% caustic is really strong! I've used 0.5% at all of the wineries I've worked at.

10% is sodium hydrooxide very strong, 1% should be sufficient.
You can also use a "pig" and run it thru your hose. Btw, what kind of operation are you running to be using such large diameter lines?

My advice may or may not be backed by actually personal expirience and should be treated as such.
