I'm looking at chilling options for my winery now as well so thought I'd revive this discussion. I'll be chilling two 530 gallon jacketed tanks and some 265 and 160 tanks with plates. I've considered the chest freezer with coils and aquatic pump recirculating glycol but not sure if I wan to go that route as I can't find a lot of experience with that technique. I found a 1hp glycol beer chiller on Craigslist that I'm considering getting. It hasn't been used in 15 years but the compressor runs fine. As far as I can tell, this is pretty similar to the Micromatic power packs, only older and more power. Any thoughts on using this to recirculate glycol through the jackets and plates? I'm also looking at this used chiller from another source as a potential solution. This can also run glycol instead of R-22. http://www.barrinc.c...ller.aspx?id=74 Below are a couple of images of the beer chiller
