Found a source for a few 5 gallon glass carboys, they are used and most have the handle, bung, and airlock, the are currently full of what was wine before the airlocks were allowed to dry out.
My question is simply this : are they worth 25.00 each with the handles and all?

If they are structurally sound, they're worth that. You may have some cleaning to do. If so, offer $20.00, and get some Wine Off spray and a carboy brush.

Of course!
And don't dump the wine before tasting it! I bought some stainless kegs full of muscadine wine from the 1980's, for $25 each, what he had paid originally for the empty kegs. He said the wine probably wasn't any good after sitting in there all these years. Either he could dump it or I could. I said I'd do it. It was good enough to bottle and now I dump it one glass at a time.
New carboys are more than $25 and old are just as good, often better. Plus the added gear. I'd grab them all!

I use old Sparkletts bottles they are 5 gallons if you watch swap meets you can pick them up cheap. My dad had 6 of them on the side of his yard they where quite dirty but I cleaned them up.

I have more than I need, but thanks for the offer. I'm sure there are other TN winemakers that would love to buy some.Wade,

I have enough to make the legal limit and some times I come close.
If you go to the wine club area on the forum, click Tennessee, and post there about them, I'll bet someone says they need them. How many do they have for sale? Maybe they'd lower the price a little if you take them all.

Already tried that (lowering the price) she said that's as low as she will go with air locks, bungs, and handles. I know I saw at least 12 to 15 there, but it was hard to count, they were in every nook and cranny. LOL
