Tonight I'm having pot roast with a Cab Franc/Merlot blend....and then when you look up how to pair food with wine i just seem to see "well, you can pair this duck, or this $50 fillet with this and this blah blah." I don't eat that stuff!

Had a good week, food wise.
1) Not a wine but a beer pairing. Yesterday, I had a pastrami with sauerkraut and Swiss on light rye sandwich toasted in the panini maker. It went perfect with a Bridgeport Hop Czar beer. It was a perfect pairing! Probably any hoppy beer would go well but the Bridgeport was super good.
2) Earlier in the week I had an Eric Ross Albarino with halibut ceviche appetizer, really nice. First time I had that varietal and was very impressed. It was also was pretty good with the carnitas entree.
