Tried one when they were stocked at Sam's Club. Avoid at all costs.

Thanks, Steve

Piazza Grape Juice is a member of VQA - Ontario so there is an outside chance the kits are good. Our local Costco has stopped carrying wine kits, the competition in Victoria is too fierce and the staff in the smaller stores know what they are selling.

you'll probably find these are made by one of the big boys and are similar to the main brands 4 week kits.

like heron bay and paklab do for costco & RJS do for western family/ Save on foods.
Above all relax , it's winemaking ,it's not supposed to be stressfull . It's not sky diving.

We drink more wine by 9 am than most people drink all day!

A quick search tells me that these are produced by RJS.

Being a 5 litre concentrate kit, they definitely fall into the "value" range of kits. They are meant for early and quick drinking.

Don't make these if you intend to age for more than 6 months.

RJS has made a Cru Select kit labelled Piazza but its over $100. The OP says these $40 kits are from a different company that has been based in Mississauga for years -- Piazza Grape Juice Company. Though I'm a little dubious they have the processing technology and aren't just packaging something bought from elsewhere.

Hi Rick

The RJS Piazza was an RQ from 2011 (you probably know this), but I was at the RJS factory store about 10 days ago, and, they were selling the Piazza RQ, and, the Tango RQ: 2 for $99. Needless to say I invested.

Weird Varietals (no Cab or chardonnay please , too boring)

I have used cheap Costco kits in the past to help some of my grape wines.
When working with hybrids or American varieties where it's offer hard to get the brix up above 21 the addition of some of these kit concentrates really helps give the wine depth and fruit and get the brix up from17 to 24 .

Those Costco twin packs have been a life safer in cold years , in a way that just adding sugar cant match

Today I saw that they now have premium 15L 6 week kits for $64.95 from the same company.
They were at the end of the fruit & produce section.

Whenever Walmart offers a product a little cheaper its because they required the supplier to make it a little cheaper. I don't think theres snything premium about a $65 kit.
