Any one ever have problems with corks from EC Krause? I bought three hundred of the superior #9 corks, they broke off in the bottle when I bottled my wine and they looked dirty to me. I called and sent them back today, well see what they send me next.

Hi Josey,
Sounds like old corks to me.
Hope you're having a good new year!

Did you use the corks fresh out of the package? If you dip them in k-meta or try to sterilize them, that can cause the corks to deteriorate and break when pulled. A long tight cork also needs a good corkscrew to come out in one piece.

Hello Every one. I called a cousin in Alabama and he said he had the same problem with some corks he bought from EC Krause, they break up when you try to cork them and when you try to pull them out, but these really looked like they cleaned them up off the floor, packaged them and sent them out to me?
I sent them back after I called to see what they wanted to do.
Hello Wade ALL is well here, I bottled 75 bottles of Red Raspberry wine yesterday.
