teflon tape should seal the threads.just wrap the tape on in the right direction and dont over tighten.I have a very important question please, anyone use this type of tank ever have the bottom valve leak from the thread/screw in area? I just started using my new 200l tank and relised that its leaking from down at the valve. Making it tighter didn't help has anyone used teflon tape? What other ideas do you have I need to rack it all out tomorrow? Its not a fast leak but it can not stay this way.

Get thing to have, using it to put press into and starting MLF, then moving to demijohns to get off the gross leeds.
great price only $315, I used teflon tape from the start and the valve is not tightened down, but has a rubber O ring and has not spilled a drop.

Yeah - follow the advice which Smokin Joe gives above ^^^
This happened after using teflon tape. Perhaps I should use a thicker layer?

Friendly Fire, Yes I also bought a 300 liter Variable Volume Tank made by Marchisio from Corado's. I had the same exact problem with one of my shut off valves leaking from the treaded area on the bottom even with extra teflon tape. The problem was that the threaded stem is too long and it was bottoming out and not allowing the valve to seat, subsequently it would leak from the treads. Here is what I did to fix it. I remove the valve and cut off approximately 1/4 " of the treaded stem with a cut off wheel. Threaded back on, and it works like a champ. No more leaking and it seals perfectly.

I have a couple of 300L tanks and noticed the same issue as you. Not so much the leaking, as I used teflon tape right from the get-go, but the valve was turned up instead of down. Add a silicone O-ring to the valve and screw it back in. The space the O-ring takes up is sufficient to keep the valve pointed down while still giving you a good seal. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with the 300 liter vcc tank. The answer is not to with the teflon tape or pipe dope. The problem lies with the treaded valve. The threaded valve stem is too long and it is bottoming out before the valve seats. This is a quick fix. Take a metal cutting wheel, cut off 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch from the treaded stem. Apply teflon tape and re-seat. Works perfectly.
If you don't believe, check it yourself. Screw the threaded portion of the valve all the way down, you will see that the rubber o- ring does not seat against the back wall, subsequently you will leak. If you over apply the teflon tape or pipe dope it will eventually leak.
