Having never purchased a major piece of gear from MoreWine before, I'm getting a bit nervous.

I purchased the Italian Crusher Destemmer (WE273SPREBOOK).

I was told back in March that I would Have it in July/August. Well here we are. Aug 20, and I am not being told that the ship is delayed, customs, Shipping...etc.... Blah Blah Blah.......

Does this sound legit? Or do i start making plans to borrow (yet again), another crusher.
I cannot tell you how much this disappoints me.

Does this square with other folks experience with MoreWine? Please let me know.

You should ask for compensation if it doesnt arrive in time for harvest season.

I have had very good experiences buying from MoreWine. I used the Pre-Season sale for both a crusher a few years ago along with a bottle filler last year. Both arrived without any problems. I would assume that if your c/d is delayed, it is with a whole carton load of equipment. That a major piece of the savings, coming in a large shipment. You might try calling or sending an email to Tristan Johnson, he is always very helpful when I have needed something.

MoreWine, in my experience, is one of the most stand up companies you will deal with. If they say there are shipping delays then there are shipping delays. Stay in touch with them and keep it professional, they will do the same. If you don't get your equipment on time they will make it right.

I ordered a crusher/destemmer from MoreWine two years ago during their pre-season sale. It arrived at exactly the right time (the day before) to process my grapes. MoreWine kept me informed as to the shipment status and was very informative and helpful.

Well I hope that is true. I have an order coming from Speidel (Germany).

I spoke with Tristan @ Morewine yesterday and that order is delayed to the end of Sept. due to production and export delays. Perhaps 2 different shippers.

True, but making it "right" won't help if you have a ton or more of grapes on the ground with no crusher or yeast. We place our orders in confidence that they'll provide the product as promised and on time.

I think they need to build a little more confidence in their buyers or risk losing a lot of our business.

I'm in this boat. Got too many delay messages for simple stuff and don't have a lot of confidence that it will be here in time.

I've never had an issue with Morewine until this year (they were my go-to place for last minute purchases). Perhaps I'm branching out into non-regular items or it's a symptom of reducing inventory to keep overhead costs down, but every single one of my 4 orders in the past 2-3 months has been delayed. Granted, most have been resolved in 3-4 days and shipments went out, but I'm still waiting on that enolmatic filter and cartridges that I bought in May.

Must be something going on with Italian shipments. I was trying to get a particular VC Tank from Gino Pinto and they told me they were hung up on the water.. who knows... bet it is some type of strike. Anyway, I asked what they had in stock and we settled on something else.... just wondering.

However, I did get this in email last Friday:

Thank you again for your order. I have received an update that we are expecting the container in next week, and my wine team manager has every expectation that this ETA is correct. I've never had a beef with Morewine. But this year, something is definitely wrong.

From an order I placed three weeks ago, I am still waiting on D254, Opti-Red, Fermaid-K and Acti-ML.

I've called them three times for partial shipments of anything from my order that they have in stock. Everything but a pump was in stock when ordered. So they held the shipment, which at the time was OK. But when the pump came in, a bunch of other stuff was gone. I'm harvesting this weekend. Tomorrow, I'll be looking to place a fedex order somewhere else.

I'm too big for the LHBS, and too small for scottlabs quantities. Any suggested alternate suppliers for the above?

I think shipments from Italy were delayed in general this year. I ordered a 170L bladder press that was italian made and it was also estimated end of June early July for delivery. Well they just came in from Italy before Labor Day and it is being put on a freight truck today or tomorrow. I was starting to sweat that it would be here in time.... but it looks like all is good.
