I was very disappointed in the new forum when I first logged in with my iPhone. The forum main page was supposedly optimized for smart phones. Reality was it was essentially unusable. But...after doing a bit of looking I found an option way down on the very bottom that said something like 'view forum in other format'. Once I selected this option I was taken to a screen that looked just like the forum as viewed on a real computer. Eureka!

Just thought I would share in case others were experiencing the same issue.

right now it seems to be auto-detecting mobile browsers and using the Lo-Fi version.
i expect in a few months or so, specific iphone themes will be out that preserve the graphical interface but lay the content out more conveniently for iphone users and they'll be able ot autodetect for that too.
something like the wordpress iphone theme.

Hey all. I browsed to the site on my iphone and it took me to the APP store. I ponied up the $2 for the "IPB mobile app" but when I launch, it askes me for community name and URL address. I tried a few variations but after hitting "add community" it just shivers and asks me all over again.

Any advice on what to put in the boxes to make it work?

Thanks

I just went to the site from my mobile browser (I'm on android not iphone) and it works fine but it is the regular site so everything is small and you have to zoom in to really see anything... i did notice at the very bottom if i zoomed in there was a link to click to use mobile version, but it didn't seem to change anything at all

Has anyone been able to sign in from an iPhone? I can view the site, but logging in never works. That means I can read, but not reply.

Yes. I was at the Dr.'s office this morning on my iPhone. No problems.

So you just log in to the regular site? Or did you have to install an app?

No app needed. Just sign to Safari and search winepress. You can choose mobile or full version on the menu.

So I just dug into my settings and figured this out. I turned on cookies for visited sites. Not sure if that was off by default, or if I had turned it off at some point in the past.
