So, I just got some bottles of wine from my local winery. I don't know squat about wine pairing, and I need some help. I got a bottle of Velvet Red wine and some Strawberry wine, and I'm trying to figure out a meal that will go with either of them. Here's a link with more info about the bottle of Velvet Red, http://www.stjameswi...velvet-red.html. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with Velvet Red, but from it's description as a Concord based wine, I can think of no specific food to pair with such a wine. It seems like if you insist on serving it with food, it should be served with a meal that has a variety of flavors, such as Thanksgiving - turkey. cranberry sauce, stuffing, potatoes & gravy, squash, broccoli casserole, etc.

How about with a big plate of home-made nachos, or hot peppers stuffed with chicken and cheese! Sounds good to me!

Thanks a lot for sharing that link. I really don't know what meal can be combined with either of them. I'll tell you if I found out what are the best for those wines.
