WO HOOO!!!! We are gonna do some juding and some tasting.
We are gonna try and start around 6pm on Sat the 25th at Chris' house.
Ok we need everyone to bring 1-2 Bottles of their own wine for judging (If you want to bring more we will have to save it for the after judging when we will open up to drinking instead of tasting). Also if everyone can try to bring something that they like to snack on when wine tasting. Cheese, crackers whatever you like. Hopefully if everyone brings a little something we should be fine. Chris has a good number of chairs and glasses, but if anyone has an extra folding chair or a wine glass or 2 to bring, go ahead. I will crank out the judging sheets, and a copy of the Aroma wheel for everyone.
The judging sheets I want to use are the onens joel posted on page 1. The main form we are going to take notes on is the judging sheet from this summers winefest. On the other download you can see the Aroma wheel as well. If you want to study up or practice, grab them.
The plan is to make groups of 3 or so people to judge each wine, then move to the next. If anyone is experienced in tasting, please help me to explain what we are doing, as I am still learning as well.
Other then that, I dont really want to make a hoopla about the best scores or anything, but really want this to be a learning experience for all of the winemakers.
Im going to email everyone that sounds interested. This will be a ton of fun, and a ton of learning as well.
Hope to see you all there.
